Wealth Education

Build wealth on purpose

Honest, kitchen-table money lessons from my own wins and mistakes, for anyone who works hard and still feels they should be further along.

Start here

I didn’t buy my first home until I was 42

If you feel behind financially, I understand that feeling. I’ve built a company from nothing, served six years in the Air Force, bought rental properties and written three books. I still wish I’d made different choices about cars, clothes, nights out, lending money and spending on things that didn’t last. Things that felt important then sometimes got in the way of the future I wanted.

I can’t change those choices, but I can share what they taught me. That’s why I started the Wealth Series: honest, kitchen-table conversations about the choices, mistakes and habits that help you move forward. Everyday language, no hype, and you don’t need to know every financial term to join in.

These three short videos are about a minute each. Watch them in order: who I am and why I’m doing this, who it’s for, and the first thing you can do today.

How to use the worksheet

Your whole financial picture on one page

Most people never see their money in one place. Accounts, bills, cards and loans live in different apps, so it’s easy to feel busy with money without feeling in control of it. The Money on One Page worksheet fixes that in about 30 minutes.

Use last month’s bank and card statements and fill in five simple sections:

  • Money coming in: every source of income, per month.
  • Money going out: every bill and expense, including the small subscriptions that add up.
  • Saved and invested: what you have today in savings and investment accounts.
  • What you owe: each debt with its balance, interest rate and minimum payment.
  • One next step: one specific action you’ll take, with a date.

At the bottom, subtract what goes out from what comes in. That number is what you have to work with each month. Even if it’s small, it’s your starting point, and the books show you exactly what to do with it.

The principles

What I teach, in plain words

Everything in the Wealth Series comes back to a few habits that work at any income:

  • Pay yourself first. Move money to savings the day you get paid, before anything else.
  • Automate it. Willpower runs out. Automatic transfers don’t.
  • Have a debt plan. Put every debt on one page, attack the highest interest rate and celebrate quick wins.
  • Spend on purpose. Know the difference between needs and wants, and wait before big purchases.
  • Let time work. Money invested earlier has more years to grow. Starting small beats waiting.
  • Build more than one income stream. A business, a side job or rental property can all add up over time.

These are the same lessons in my books, scaled for kids, teens and adults.
